About Me

My photo
Sayra Begum
My art is obsessively figurative. I explore the strange way humans are, physically and psychologically. I am interested in how humans are formed by the reality they are trapped in and the self that forms without cause, elements merging together to make them who they are. Communicating the lives of exceptional or ordinary individuals, I wish to evoke understanding of those who seem different. This can be in the form of projection, reflecting the familiar dynamic of Earth onto an alien reality, escaping yet being dragged down or simply observing individuals at their purist and simplest state.
